• Which insurance companies do you offer direct billing with?

  We currently offer direct billing services to AdjudiCare, Alberta Blue Cross, Benefit Plan Administration – BPA, Canada Life, Chambers of Commerce, CINUP, Claim Secure, Desjardins, Equitable, First Canadian, GMS, Green Shield, Group Health, Group Source, IA Financial, Johnston Group, Manulife, Maximum Benefit, Medavie Blue Cross, Medic Construction, People Cooperation, RWAM Insurance Administrators, Simply Benefits, Saskatchewan Blue Cross, Sun Life SSQ. 

• How do I know if my insurance plan covers dietitian services?

  You can contact your insurance company directly to verify your coverage for dietitian services. Coverage may vary depending on your specific plan and policy.

  Questions to ask your provider:​

  • Does my plan cover services from a registered dietitian?

  • What is the maximum amount reimbursed per year, and when does the coverage year reset?

  • Does the plan cover 100% of each session up to the yearly maximum, or is there a per-session maximum?

• What if my insurance company is not part of your direct billing network?

  No problem. We’ll provide you with a payment receipt that you can submit to your provider for reimbursement.

• What is the process for using my benefits?

  Once you’ve scheduled your appointment, we will email you an intake form. In this form, you can provide your insurance information for direct billing. We require a credit card/visa debit on file at the time booking to reserve your appointment. After your appointment, we’ll process your payment with your insurance provider. If there’s any remaining balance, we’ll charge the card on file for your convenience. We will email you the payment receipt. 

• What information do I need to provide for direct billing?

  If you book your session online, our intake form will ask you for your insurance information. You can also upload an image of your benefits card!

• Will I receive a receipt for the direct billed services?

  We will email you a detailed receipt for any payment not covered by insurance.

• What happens if my insurance does not cover the full cost of the session?

  If there is any amount not covered by your insurance, we will charge the card on file for the outstanding balance.

• Can I book online if I am using direct billing?

  Absolutely! Our online booking system is available for all clients, including those using direct billing services.

• What if I have several insurance plans, can you coordinate multiple plans?

  We can only direct bill multiple insurance companies if we can direct bill you’re primary plan first. You can provide us with both your primary plan and secondary on the online booking form.

• Can I pay in advance with benefits?

  No, billing can only occur after the consultation has taken place.

• Does insurance cover late cancellation or no-show charges?

  No, insurance companies do not cover late cancellations or missed appointment charges.

• What's the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?

  Insurance providers require your benefits be used with a registered dietitian. The title nutritionist and dietitian are used interchangeably by some dietitians. Read our blog article about the differences between dietitian and nutritionist.
